Professional Experience

I'm a data science professional with almost 20 years of experience. I've designed solutions for the automotive, consumer retail, insurance, banking, pharmaceutical, and healthcare industries, and worked with C-level executives to turn strategic imperatives into operational tools and capabilities. Complex domains and regulatory environments are familiar territory.I've built several teams and data science departments from the ground up, focusing on scrappy, high-ROI solutions to prove value, which turn into polished and reliable enterprise assets.

Volunteer AI/ML Work

Outside of my professional responsibilities, my passion is building AI/ML solutions for public health and epidemiology.Practical implementation of machine learning and artificial intelligence is significantly lacking on the front lines of public health.
The first contact between a novel pathogen and the public health system will be the outbreak investigation conducted by local health departments. The impact generated by aiding this process with ML/AI tools is considerable, and currently unaddressed.
